Introduction of commonly used backpack materials (summary and talk about the quality of materials)

Finally finished the series of articles introducing common materials for backpacks. With just a few articles, it is impossible to fully introduce the materials commonly used on backpacks, but I believe that the materials that appear on ordinary backpacks can be found in the above articles.

Writing this article is a summary of this series of articles, and also talks about the quality of backpack materials.

The production of fabrics is just a technical problem. Everyone knows how to produce them, but the quality is different. The quality of a backpack is closely related to the quality of the materials used. I personally think that a good bag first looks at the materials and then the workmanship.

Generally good fabrics, whether they are Poly or Nylon, are soft to the touch, and the coating on the back is appropriate. It does not look like a plastic layer, and the texture of the fabric can be seen. As long as the fabrics are not very special, they are produced in China. However, I personally think that the quality of domestically produced materials is rarely as good as that of imported materials. This is a fact, not that I am fond of foreigners. For example, if you look at 600DPoly, it is difficult to tell the difference with the naked eye if you only look at the front. However, looking at the coating on the other hand, it is easy to find that the coating of the domestic material is thicker. Generally speaking, the coating can be rain-proof, and the thickness of the coating is the best. Too thick the coating will increase the weight of the backpack invisibly. I have not tested the strength, and I don’t know whether the domestically produced 600D can meet the standard. Other low-strength materials, such as 210D or 420D, make people wonder whether they cut corners during production. Anyway, the strength is obviously not enough. If it is used as a lining, the fabric may break after a long time. The strength of the domestic 420D is similar to that of the imported 210D. In addition, the texture of general domestic materials is not as soft as imported materials, and the hand feels a bit hard. I personally think that Korean fabrics are very good. Some high-end bags are made of Korean fabrics. There are many counterfeit packages on the market, and the counterfeit packages are generally made of domestic materials.

The difference between lines is even greater. Although domestically-made lines cannot be broken as soon as they are pulled, it is not difficult to break them by hand. In contrast, the strength of the Korean triple nylon thread is admirable. If you are not afraid of injury, you can find a thread and try to pull it by hand. A good webbing has a low density, and it will not become narrow or deformed by pulling it hard for a long time. Nylon's webbing feels softer, while Poly's feels harder. The domestically produced ribbons of lower quality are not dense enough, and they will roll into a ball after a long time. I wonder why Koreans who seem to be stupid-looking are not only better than China in football, but also slightly better in the textile industry? In other words, the Chinese textile industry is as unsatisfactory as the Chinese football team in some areas? Not to say, to say more is not helpful!

A good plastic buckle can have a certain strength. Beautiful appearance, the beautiful appearance mentioned here is the plastic debris left when there is no plastic on the whole buckle. You must have seen the low-quality bags sold on the street. Look at the buckle on it. Isn’t it disgusting? At present, there are many plastic buckle manufacturers in China, and some of them are of good quality. There should be no problem with using domestically-made buckles on ordinary casual bags. The only difference may be your psychological effect.
